UP NEXT ON MY READING LIST

Thanks to Atlanta traffic + my Audible subscription, finding time to read (well technically, listen) is no longer difficult for me. Striving to learn and grow is the only way you’re going to see your fullest potential realized.

“You will be the same person in five years as you are today except for the people you meet and the books you read.” ― Charles Jones

Trust me on this, books are one of the cheapest + most effective tools you can use to develop and transform yourself.

So, for all my bibliophiles (current + future), here’s what’s next for me!

Born A Crime by Trevor Noah – Seen Trevor Noah in several interviews and I just like him. He’s trenchant and entertaining. Charismatic but substantive. I’m anticipating a personal story of triumph amid a history lesson on colonization and systematic oppression. All of this in one book? I want in! Let’s see if it lives up to all my hype.

How To Talk To Strangers by Malcolm Gladwell – The 6th release from the New York Times bestselling author explores how we communicate and interact with people, particularly strangers. I have never read any of his books. This one had mixed reviews. I enjoy the study of human behavior, so I decided to add this to the list. If this goes well (and maybe even if it doesn’t), l look forward to venturing into his other work.

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz – I mean who hasn’t read this book. Me, I haven’t. The bevy of self-help content indulgers I follow, all recommend this. It’s a small book so it should be a quick read. I’ll be sure to share all the gems I find.

Stillness is The Key by Ryan Holiday – I just love Ryan! His approach to personal development topics includes research (social and scientific), historical patterns, and personal accounts. It makes the conversation more interesting and the conclusions of his findings more credible. Getting quiet is a practice I’m trying to master so I’m looking forward to digging into this. Absolutely confident it won’t disappoint.

Creative Quest by Questlove – I stumbled across this while searching through Audible. After listening to the 3-minute sample, it seems to be about what it means to be creative, the process of creating, and how to market what you create. With his talents + background, me being sold on him as an authority on this subject matter was immediate. So, I will be kicking it with Questlove for a few hours, expecting to learn and be entertained.

Now, it’s your turn. How do you make time to read? And what’s up next on your list?
